Business Climate

Advantageously located on Interstate 65, just 2 miles NE of Louisville, Kentucky, Jeffersonville is southern Indiana’s most vibrant city. Named after Thomas Jefferson and originally designed after a plan by him, the city features historic architecture, beautiful parks, and the Ohio River Greenway. The city offers excellent shopping and dining opportunities through numerous and varied restaurants and shopping centers.

With a population of nearly 50,000 people, the city is part of the Louisville metropolitan statistical area. As the Clark County seat and the county’s largest city, Jeffersonville is a hub of government and business activity offering small town charm and big city conveniences.

Downtown Jeffersonville showcases an appreciation of history, a pro-business environment, and a focus on quality of life for its residents. The Department of Economic Development, established in 2010, works to facilitate job growth through the expansion of existing business and the recruitment of new firms to the region, and the Jeffersonville Main Street Inc. strengthens the commercial area by restoring and rehabilitating downtown neighborhoods.
